Overview

Playworks is seeking a talented pediatric SLP to join our team. The position offers a caseload of young children (1 ½ – 10 years) with communicative disorders. Most of our new referrals are for toddlers and preschoolers who are minimally verbal and/or have poor speech intelligibility. This position works very well for someone who wants to work 2-3 days (or partial days) a week as part of a team.

Playworks is a private practice established in 1996. We provide assessment, intervention, and consultative services to families of young children (infancy through elementary school age) with complex communicative disorders. The practice is directed by a speech-language pathologist, with clinical staff in areas including speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, and early childhood special education.

The position requires a master’s degree, ASHA certification, and state license. We would consider an exceptional CFY. The ideal candidate would have a child development background, clinical reasoning abilities, an interest in transdisciplinary treatment, and excellent communication skills. We would prefer at least 3 years of experience in pediatrics. The person must be organized, reliable, and sincerely interested in learning. Most importantly, we are seeking the right combination of intellect, heart, and talent…someone who genuinely wants to play a role in changing lives.

One of the strengths of this practice is the stability of relationships established with staff and clients. We are not looking for applicants who change jobs on an annual (or more frequent) basis, therapists looking for “summer-only” positions, adult therapists, or staffing agencies.

Qualified applicants are requested to submit a letter of interest and resume with three references and an expected salary range to Kelli Wilms, M.S., CCC-SLP.
