Responsibilities/Duties

Produce machined parts by programming, setting up and operating a CNC (computer numerical control) Machine.
Maintain quality and safety standards
Keep records and completing production logs
Be able to plan machining parts by looking over work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces and machining parameters
Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including necessary math skills.
Check if CNC machinery is in good working order before set up
Set up machinery to successfully conduct the run as specified
Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position
Monitor the run throughout the cycle, checking that specifications are met
Perform all necessary machine maintenance and use equipment properly
Always abide by all safety standards
Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
Required Skills and Experience

Experience operating a CNC machine
Set-up required
Programming is a plus
Functional and Technical Skills, Controls and Instrumentation, Tooling, Attention to Detail, and Judgment
Good communication skills, written and verbal
Ability to use a computer
